Each term the learners of Kronendal and their families are invited to contribute to a charity initiative and to get involved in making a difference in the lives of people who are less fortunate than them.
Projects include making soup for soup kitchens, gathering old clothes and dry store foods for donation, collecting Easter eggs to take to children’s homes and knitting squares to make woolen blankets for the needy in winter.
In addition to the learner support accessible to Kronendal learners and their families, the Victor Centre also runs an outreach programme where its services are being made available to the broader Hout Bay community.
Teacher training programmes are being extended to sister schools in Hout Bay and the Victor Centre’s specialists are also offering their services to these schools. These outreach programmes are funded independently by the neighbouring schools or through programme funders.
