The Grade 7’s completed a Natural Science project on conservation of thermal energy in order to cook food. They made wonderboxes which are boxes made from materials found around the home e.g. boxes with insulation of pillows and blankets, in order to cook food. The food has to simmer on the stove for a few minutes so that heat in the pot can be created. The pot is then transferred from the stove to the wonderbox to complete the cooking. It does take a bit longer to cook the food, but saves a lot of energy in the process.
